Semester length student-teaching practice for SLS 480P: Practicum for Future Language Professional. Observed and given assistant teacher duties in a classroom of adult, intermediate English proficiency, pre-college level students with opportunities of class instruction by co-teaching activities and as activity leader throughout practicum. Duties included providing verbal and written feedback, small group discussion participant or facilitator, and answering grammar inquiry. Implemented and taught lesson plans that were approved and vetted by both advisor(s) and cooperating teacher.

Tutoring fellow college students mainly in essay writing: MLA or APA formatting, organization and grammar. Due to the high population of international students at this campus, at least half of the students that come in for tutoring are ESL students of various proficiencies. Also, provided one-on-one support and tutoring for students in beginning to intermediate-level Korean classes.

Semester length service-learning component of this course required us to tutor one-on-one with ESL learners in the focus for the improvement of English pronunciation features, and cater to their specific requested needs. I had to apply the knowledge learned, and then present the development of our tutees in a public forum presentation.
2015 Math Mentor Ka Pilina Project, Honolulu, Hawaii A federally funded program of the Center on Disability Services through the University of Hawaii at Manoa to foster students of Native-Hawaiian descent or with disabilities in appreciation of mathematics. Duties included math tutoring, aiding in designing of math related activities, and coordinating math camps.
